Jessica is a native of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and member of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians (Ojibwe). She works as an attorney with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Victim Services Unit serving victims of crime in civil legal matters. Jessica graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, earning an American Indian Law Certificate and completing the Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Abuse and Neglect in addition to her Juris Doctor. Prior to law school, Jessica attended Grand Valley State University where she earned a bachelor in Legal Studies with minors in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Studio Art.
Throughout her time at the Iowa Tribe VSU, Jessica has completed numerous trainings related to victims of crime, including attendance at the annual Conference on Crimes Against Women, Crimes Against Children Conference, and successful completion of the ChildFirst Forensic Interviewing Training. She additionally serves as a member at large of the National Native American Bar Association and has previously served in different capacities with the National Native American Law Student Association, OU Native American Law Student Association, OU Lawyers Against Human Trafficking, and GVSU Campus for Consent.
