Tiffani Armendariz

After five years as a secondary English teacher in Moore Public Schools, Tiffani Armendariz earned her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law and began her career at Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc. where she was an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Veterans Legal Fellow, Statewide Coordinator of Veterans Legal Services & Staff Attorney for Veterans, and the Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) Development Director. Tiffani has dedicated her legal practice to trauma-informed lawyering for the underserved and vulnerable populations of Oklahoma, particularly embracing the MLP model of practice, while teaching others how to identify legal issues, find resources, and self-advocate. As the Director of Legal Empowerment at Oklahoma Access to Justice (ATJ) Foundation, Tiffani purposefully works to empower and engage Oklahomans to meaningfully participate in the justice system. She is the lead trainer of the Oklahoma Community Justice Network (OCJN) program + Legal First Aid training curriculum. Legal First Aid training equips client-facing staff with foundational knowledge of Oklahoma law, teaches them how to spot and surface legal issues, work upstream, and potentially deescalate legal situations by connecting clients to timely, verified legal tools and resources and optimizing success at applying for direct legal services. Tiffani is married to a criminal defense attorney, has three beautiful and brilliant children, is passionate about Pilates, and loves the Las Vegas Raiders.
