Dan Foliart

Dan Foliart’s music has been indelibly etched on the landscape of network television.  Of the 50-plus series he has composed for, many continue to air in syndication and internationally. Beginning at Paramount Studios he started an extended run that included such favorites as Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley and Bosom Buddies. Other series that he has composed music and/or themes for include Roseanne, Home Improvement, 7th Heaven, the Secret Life of the American Teenager and the Conners.

In celebration of his Oklahoma heritage, his multi-media symphonic work, Oklahoma Trilogy was performed during the state’s centennial celebration. A follow up symphony, inspired by the tragedies of the Trail of Tears and the subsequent Rekindling of the Fires in its aftermath, has recently been completed. Foliart is proud to have collaborated with the esteemed Osage composer, Scott George on its Finale. He is also proud to acknowledge the support of his great friend, Justice Yvonne Kauger, whose relationship with Chickasaw Governor Anoatubby, Osage Chief Standing Bear, Cheyenne and Arapaho Chief Yellowman and Former Chief Johnson facilitated meetings that produced other valuable collaborations in the body of the work.

Dan is the Vice-President of the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and is the immediate past president of the Society of Composers & Lyricists. He served as Board President of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and is a Board Member of the ASCAP Foundation and the California Art Club.
